Maria Chiara Formica is a highly skilled and fully qualified physiotherapist, with professional credentials in both Italy and the UK.
With a comprehensive background in both musculoskeletal (MSK) and neurological physiotherapy, Maria has extensive experience treating a wide range of MSK and neuro conditions in both clinical and community settings. She specialises in the assessment, rehabilitation, and management of musculoskeletal disorders, including complex joint, muscle, and soft tissue injuries; chronic pain, post-surgical recovery; as well as neurological conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Maria is trained in a variety of specialised techniques to treat MSK conditions, including the Graston Technique for soft tissue injuries, MSK Trigger Points Treatment – Ticchi Method, Manual Handling, Taping and Functional Bandages, and Hydro Kinesis Therapy. Additionally, she has advanced training in neurorehabilitation and has worked extensively with patients recovering from neurological impairments, including post-stroke rehabilitation and neuroplasticity-based therapies. She also holds a RoSPA Level 4 Award in Advanced Manual Handling and has received training in the Osteopathic Approach to TMJ and Headaches, as well as Understanding Red Flags and Serious Spinal Pathology.
