Biography
Sharon has worked primarily within the NHS in mental health services for both young people and adults over the last 20 years, gaining vast specialist experience within complex mental health and tier 3 addiction services. Sharon has worked as a Senior Specialist Substance Misuse Consultant with a multidisciplinary team for children’s services and with young offenders and their families.
Currently, she is specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (BABCP Accredited) for depression, low self-esteem and a range of anxiety disorders including Generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia/anxiety, health anxiety, long-term health conditions, OCD, PTSD, and phobia.
Sharon is very passionate about mental health and supporting people to improve their psychological state. CBT can help individuals identify and challenge any unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. This can lead to a healthier alternative thought process and more helpful behaviours bringing about a positive change in how they think, feel, and behave.
Also a qualified Sports Massage therapist (2014) with an interest in the link between the physical body and mind, particularly regarding the impact of injury, recovery time and long-term conditions. Sharon has worked with cyclists, footballers, weightlifters, and marathon runners over the last 10 years.
